Vanity Productions & Lundin Oil – Forever United (Northern Electronics)

“Forever United” is a split EP bringing together two key figures in Nordic electronic and experimental music: Vanity Productions and Lundin Oil (aka Anthony Linell, also known as Abdulla Rashim).

From the very first seconds, we’re drawn into a subtle polar squall — a distant breath pulling us in gradually, like a ghost radio signal picked up through the fog — before dissolving into a thick, ethereal, and vaporous layer that is characteristic of Vanity Productions’ sound. Weightlessness guaranteed. A meditative experience unfolds across four tracks produced by Christian Stadsgaard, honoring the Nordic climate through a slow, precise, and unadorned construction. We find ourselves in a storm that is both motionless and riddled with subdued tensions and melancholic climaxes.

Then comes the collapse. Anthony Linell takes over from the fourth track, triggering the fracturing of the icy layer. The sonic material cracks — this is the beginning of frozen hostilities and latent conflict.

Linell deconstructs the celestial atmosphere crafted by Vanity Productions with raw sounds, environmental textures, and industrial elements, injecting a physical and palpable tension.

An intense and cohesive work, carried out in a contemplative yet abrasive manner by the two Nordic artists.
